About The Job

The Broker Assistant will assist brokers with commodity trading and daily trade verification.  Excellent interpersonal skills are a must because this individual will interact with a large volume of customers via phone calls, email, and IMs to enter customer orders into an electronic order entry system.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary contact for assigned customers
  • Accept and enter new orders, changes, and cancellations into electronic order system
  • Reconcile HMS trades to ensure order entry accuracy
  • Verify previous day trades
  • Reconcile accounts and update customer information
  • Create reports for customer and broker use
  • Reconcile monthly broker commissions
  • Plan and organize meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 1 – 3 years experience providing outstanding customer service

  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, ability to prioritize work and deal with strict deadlines

Advance Trading, Inc, an industry leading commodity brokerage firm located in Bloomington, IL is looking to hire a dynamic individual to fill the role of Systems Analyst. We are looking for a highly motivated and career minded person who wants to grow with an outstanding company

As a Systems Analyst, you will be working with a small team focused on supporting hardware and software solutions to meet corporate and client needs.  The position will be based in Bloomington, IL. 


Applicant Requirements

  •  2 or 4 year degree in information systems, system administration, computer networking, or comparable work experience preferred 
  •  You must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer. No visa sponsorships are available.  

Relevant Skills / Experiences

  •  Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems 
  •  Strong computer hardware and software skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows 10 
  •  Good customer service skills – ability to communicate effectively to help customers fix their issues and feel satisfied with the experience 
  • 1+ year of help desk experience preferred 
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  •  Team-oriented

Job Responsibilities & Duties 

  •  Responding to queries via phone, email, instant message, and in person visits 
  •  Providing technical assistance for questions and problems including hardware, software, networking, and more 
  •  Diagnosing system errors and other issues 
  •  Following up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues 
  •  Writing, editing, and revising technical documentation 
  •  Provide excellent customer service by responding to client requests and complaints in a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable manner.

Success Factors 

The key to success in this position is to quickly and efficiently triage work requests and prioritize based on criticality and severity.  The ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, good troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills are essential. 


The ability to effectively establish and maintain client relationships by carefully listening to clients in order to understand their issues and their needs is essential. Because you will be dealing with a variety of business users, general business insight, empathy, and the ability to quickly understand business challenges is important. The ability to clearly explain technical information to non-technical clients is extremely helpful.  


You will be expected to quickly learn Advance Trading, Inc. processes, services, and products and to remain aware of current and developing technology trends in order to anticipate and meet client needs and requests.

Position will report to the Director of Information Systems 

A competitive compensation and benefits package is available for this position   

Minimal to no travel will be required for this position: Less than 5% travel 

Position will require 100% onsite work in Bloomington, IL
